The most important financial aid component is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This application determines your qualification for student loans, grants and work-study. MeritAid.com: Merit aid is awarded to students with a broad range of GPAs. There are merit aid scholarships for students based on their interests, their intended majors, leadership, and community service. The following is a FREE comprehensive web site that matches students with merit-based scholarships from colleges. It is available to students, counselors and parents.
Student Lending Analytics is a website that explains college funding options. If you are looking for a loan to help with college costs, they have a chart which shows rates for many lending institutions. They also have a blog which highlights news and trends in financial aid and financing college.
